Georgiou is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Okill to the role of General Manager – Building WA after changes within their leadership team.
Mr Okill will take over from current General Manager Frank Dilizia who will move into the newly created role of New Business Manager as the company’s building operations move into their next phase of growth.
Mr Okill joins the company from ISG Plc, a global construction and engineering services company, where he has spent the past nine years as Managing Director of their South East Asia business.
Chief Executive Officer John Georgiou said with the Perth market remaining tight and highly competitive, the decision to focus our efforts onto sourcing new work will better position Georgiou for the next five years.
“Since 2008, Frank has been instrumental in growing Georgiou’s building capability, securing a number of new clients and significantly increasing the work-in-hand,” he explained.
“The addition of Steve into the role of General Manager Building WA will enable Frank to focus on the front end of the business while Steve is accountable for the overall performance of the WA business.”
The changes come on the back of the company appointing Eddie Sammut in late 2016 to support the organisation’s ongoing expansion of its building capabilities, in particular their entry into the east coast market.
“We’re really excited to welcome Steve to the business. His reputation as a builder and his leadership and direction will see Georgiou grow its building capability.”
With more than 20 years’ experience, Steve holds a Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics from the University of Canberra and has delivered key elements at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore including the Paiza Casino, Louis Vuitton and Hotel atrium.
Mr Okill commenced his role on 13 February.
