The design and construction contract aims to reduce congestion and improve safety and traffic flow by upgrading the Altone Road and Drumpellier Drive / Daviot Road from traffic light intersections to bridged interchanges.
Jointly funded by the Australian and State Governments, the project will provide more efficient and reliable movement of freight while enhancing cyclists’ access to the Swan Valley.
Georgiou CEO Gary Georgiou said, “This project builds upon our strong portfolio of work with Mains Roads WA. We look forward to delivering this critical piece of infrastructure, which will significantly enhance the commuter experience for the local community and improve freight reliability.”
Georgiou General Manager – Engineering, Simon Welfare, said, “Our recent experience in delivering the Mandurah Estuary Bridge, Leach Welshpool, Tonkin Gap, and Fitzroy Bridge projects demonstrates that Georgiou brings proven expertise in delivering complex road infrastructure – which is crucial to expediting the successful delivery of this critical project.”
Construction is expected to commence in 2025, with completion anticipated for 2028.
