Since 30 September 2025, motorists in Southern Sydney have been experiencing a safer, smoother drive along King Georges Road — thanks to an upgrade that’s now fully operational and built to serve the region for decades to come.

At Georgiou, we believe infrastructure should do more than move traffic. It should move people forward. That’s why we’ve delivered an upgrade that goes beyond asphalt—improving how people live, work and travel across Beverly Hills, Hurstville and surrounds.

The 1.4-kilometre section between Stoney Creek Road and Forest Road has been widened to three lanes in each direction, easing congestion, improving reliability, and boosting capacity along this vital corridor. The result? Better flow for daily commuters and freight operators alike—and safer journeys for all.

Working on a live arterial road, our team kept traffic moving and local businesses connected through smart staging, careful planning, and strong collaboration with Transport for NSW and the local community.

Nick Fryday, NSW General Manager at Georgiou, said: “Upgrading a live arterial road while maintaining more than 30,000 vehicle movements a day and 24-hour access to over 120 properties is an incredibly complex task. King Georges Road is a vital corridor for Southern Sydney, and through strong collaboration and a shared commitment to safety and quality, our team carefully staged the works to keep traffic moving and ensure continuous access for businesses and residents.

This project reflects the strength of Georgiou — our focus on safety, our capability, and what’s possible when we work hand in hand with our clients and the community to deliver lasting impact. We’re proud to see the King Georges Road upgrade now fully operational and delivering tangible benefits for the community.”

Now complete, the project represents a long-term investment in Sydney’s transport network—designed to support future growth, create smoother travel experiences, and deliver real value for the community.

To the residents, road users, and businesses who supported us during construction: thank you. We’re proud to have built this together.
