The Central West’s newest claim to fame—a massive 98-metre-diameter roundabout on Condobolin Road—made its grand debut on Thursday, 21 November. Dubbed as Central West’s largest roundabout, this impressive structure is more than just a traffic solution—it’s a symbol of progress for our team at Newell Highway Upgrade – Parkes Bypass project.

This roundabout represents a key step forward in delivering safer, more efficient transport routes for the community. Access to the new bypass via the roundabout will only be available next year as there are still some finishing works in progress such as landscaping and temporary traffic measures to ensure safety and smooth operation around Condobolin Road and Ross Road.

In addition to this achievement, the Parkes Bypass team reached several key milestones in November, including:

  • Installing girders for the Bridge Over Highway (Victoria Street Bridge)
  • Completing the final deck pour of span 6 of the Bridge Over Rail
  • Switching traffic onto the newly constructed Hartigan Avenue

Georgiou is delivering the Newell Highway Upgrade – Parkes Bypass project on behalf of Transport for NSW. The project includes constructing a new 10.5-kilometer, two-lane bypass, shifting the regional highway approximately two kilometres west, spanning from Maguire Road to the north to Barkers Road to the south.

The Parkes Bypass is being delivered with joint funding from the NSW and Australian governments.
