The new bridge reconnects Victoria Street with Moulden Street and Back Trundle Road, allowing vehicles to safely cross over the new bypass. It also features a dedicated shared path for pedestrians and cyclists — improving access and safety for all road users, including those travelling to Parkes Christian School and Shallow Rush.

The bridge marks another significant step forward for the project and follows the earlier opening of the bypass in April 2025.

The Victoria Street Bridge is the second of two bridges delivered as part of the bypass, following the earlier completion of the Hartigan Avenue overpass in 2023. Together, these structures represent critical components of the broader bypass works aimed at improving traffic flow, safety and freight efficiency through Parkes.

Georgiou is delivering this essential infrastructure on behalf of Transport for NSW. The project is co-funded by the Australian and NSW governments to support safer, more efficient journeys across the state’s regional road network.

In addition, the bridge will soon feature Aboriginal artwork by local Wiradjuri women, displayed on the bridge’s safety screens. This culturally significant installation will reflect the local environment and heritage through traditional symbols and patterns, honouring the strong connection to Country and community.

The northern connection from the bypass into Parkes via Peak Hill Road — the former highway route — is also accessible, providing a direct link to the town’s northern side.

Additionally, a new and upgraded link road between Brolgan Road and Hartigan Avenue is now open to traffic.

Georgiou congratulates the project team and delivery partners for achieving this milestone and looks forward to the successful completion of remaining works in the coming months.
