After 16 months of construction, WA Water Minister, the Hon. Dave Kelly, has officially opened our Ellenbrook Water Storage Tank.

Employing 115 personnel at peak, the 80 million litre tank is the largest tank ever built by Georgiou and Water Corporation.

“The tank is an impressive 91-metres in diameter, 13-metres high and with an 80 million litre capacity, holds enough water fill more than 35 Olympic-sized swimming pools,” Mr Kelly said.

“The new tank will significantly improve the water supply to Ellenbrook and the rapidly growing north-east metropolitan corridor.”

Scope of works for the project included a 36-hour overnight concrete pour for the tank base (1,300m3) which included curing and stressing of the base; installation of eighty 2.9-metre-wide precast panels, weighing in at approx. 30 tonnes each; the erection of 13 concrete columns weighing 7.5 tonnes each and the installation of the modularised roof sections with the largest section weighing 15 tonnes.
