Georgiou, in joint venture with Brady Marine and Civil, has been awarded the $37 million Indooroopilly Riverwalk project for Brisbane City Council (BCC).

Set to improve safety and connectivity for cyclists and pedestrians, the project involves the construction of 790-metres of high quality, connected and accessible riverwalk and pathways.

Chief Executive Officer Rob Monaci said the company was looking forward to delivering the project, having successfully completed the Botanic Gardens Riverwalk cyclist and pedestrian pathway in late 2019.

“Georgiou has delivered a number of high-quality bridges – for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. We have a very experienced team on the project and look forward to delivering this vital piece of infrastructure for the Council,” he explained.

The project will also see Georgiou further build on their relationship with the Brisbane City Council and Brady Marine and Civil.

“Over the past five years, we have built a strong relationship with BCC where we understand their needs and they understand our capability and ability.

“Additionally, the synergy between Georgiou and Brady Civil cannot be underestimated with the two companies currently partnering on a number of projects across Queensland and New South Wales in a joint venture arrangement.”

Detailed scope of work involves construction of a new five-metre-wide separated cyclist and pedestrian facility, upgrade of the intersection at Foxton and Radnor streets, installation of a viewing platform on the riverwalk overlooking the Brisbane River as well as lighting and landscaping.

The project, which will see 60 personnel at peak, will commence immediately with the project set for completion in the second half of 2021.
