Georgiou has been selected by Main Roads WA to deliver the Great Northern Highway – Roy Hill Bridge Project, valued at $18.66 million, with construction commencing earlier this month. This Roy Hill funded project is being delivered in partnership with Main Roads WA, who is managing the design, procurement and maintenance elements of the initiative.

The project involves the construction of a bridge over the Roy Hill rail line, with works to include a 95-metre-long reinforced concrete box culvert structure to improve drainage and reduce road closures due to flooding.

Operations Manager Peter Hopfmueller said Georgiou, who recently delivered the Marble Bar Road Upgrade for Main Roads WA (MRWA), will bring their experience in delivering major transport infrastructure in Western Australia to the project.

“We have brought together a team with extensive local knowledge and are very excited by the opportunity to build on our relationship with MRWA to deliver on the project’s objectives,” he said.

Construction, which will employ 65 at peak, commenced in August 2018 with expected completion in February 2019.

Georgiou is no stranger in partnering with Roy Hill to deliver public infrastructure projects.  The Marble Bar Road Diversion project is close to completion and includes a 13km diversion works initiative to improve drainage and water course infrastructure.
