GEORGIOU APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN

Georgiou is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gerhard Vorster, one of Australia’s leading strategists, as the new Chairman of the Georgiou Advisory Board.

Mr Vorster joined the Georgiou Advisory Board in 2014 as a Non-Executive Member and will succeed Mr Joe Trio as Chairman on 31 March, 2016.

Mr Vorster has been Chief Strategy Officer at Deloitte Australia and Asia-Pacific region – a position he has held since 2010, and has led the Deloitte innovation program in Australia.

CEO John Georgiou said Mr Vorster brings extensive international experience in a number of industries to the role and has a practical understanding of innovation, digitisation and design.

“Gerhard also has broad sector experience in the areas of banking and securities; industrial products and services, automotive, service delivery and innovation, mining, water, oil and gas, telecommunications and media,” he said.

“Joe Trio was appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board in 2010 and under his direction, the company has flourished into a national engineering and building construction company.

“As we move into the next phase of our growth, Gerhard’s core professional capability in strategy execution will assist Georgiou to build on this platform – especially in strengthening our presence on the East Coast of Australia.”

Mr Vorster is the inaugural Chairman of the RMIT College of Business Industry Advisory Board and Adjunct Professor at RMIT. He is also the Patron of Good Design Australia and Managing Director of Quidni Advisory. He advises a number of prominent organisations on strategy.

Mr Trio will continue on Georgiou’s Advisory board as a Non-Executive Member.
