Georgiou has been awarded the design and construction contract for the $24 million project to deliver the Karel Avenue Upgrade for Main Roads WA.

Scope of works for the project includes the design and construction of the Karel Avenue interchange with Roe Highway, including bridge widening, between Farrington Road and Berrigan Drive.
Chief Executive Officer Rob Monaci said the new contract will enable Georgiou’s engineering business to do what they do best.

“Georgiou has a solid relationship with Main Roads WA, having delivered numerous road and bridges projects in Western Australia since our inception in 1977,” he explains.

“In delivering this design and construction contract, we have the opportunity to utilise our team’s vast expertise and innovative thinking to provide cost and time effective solutions for our client and road-users, the WA taxpayers.”

In WA, Georgiou is currently delivering the Great Eastern Highway Upgrade ($14 million) for Main Roads WA and has recently delivered the Great Northern Highway-Roy Hill Bridge ($18.6 million). In 2018 alone, the Group was awarded more than $450 million in roads contracts across Australia.

“We’re currently delivering five major road and bridge projects in New South Wales and another four in Queensland. We have a great team of experience and dedicated personnel on board and look forward to continuing our growth in this sector across Australia.”

Construction, which will employ 50 personnel on site at peak, will commence in July 2019 with expected completion in July 2020.
