Georgiou – in joint venture with our partner Brady Marine and Civil – has been awarded a $74 million wharf construction contract as part of the Stage One Garden Island (East) Critical Infrastructure Recovery Project in NSW.

The project, awarded by Managing Contractor the Garden Island Bayinguwa Delivery Team (a joint venture between Lendlease and PSG Holdings), involves the construction of new, re-aligned wharf structures at the Garden Island Defence Precinct in Port Jackson.

“Despite being our largest defence project in New South Wales, Georgiou has delivered a number of projects for the Department of Defence and repeat client Lendlease across Australia over the past few years,” said CEO Rob Monaci.

“Combined with our expertise in delivering marine-based structures, this project builds on our capability in this sector and our experienced teams are excited to be part of such a critical infrastructure project.”

Georgiou and Brady are currently delivering the Windsor Bridge Replacement Project in New South Wales and the Green Bridge and Botanical Gardens Bikeway projects in Queensland.

“We have a lot of synergy with Brady Marine and Civil, common values, similar working style and are confident this partnership will be another good example of a strong working relationship between the two parties.”

Construction, which will employ 50 at peak, will commence in July 2019 with expected completion in March 2021.
