Georgiou is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Eddie Sammut to the newly created role of Executive General Manager Building.

Mr Sammut, who has previously held senior leadership and corporate roles with CPB (Leighton Contractors), CIMIC (Leighton Holdings Group) and John Holland, will support the organisation’s ongoing expansion of its building capabilities and focus on its expansion in the east coast markets.

In announcing the appointment, CEO John Georgiou said Mr Sammut’s extensive experience in Australia’s building sector, including building contracting, development and project management, will be an asset for the nationwide company.

“Georgiou remains steadfast in our drive to continue to expand our building portfolio across Australia. The appointment of Mr Sammut will be instrumental in these efforts and a tremendous addition to our senior leadership team,” he said.

“The creation of this key leadership role will be pivotal in our New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria operations, which continues to be a key focus for our business, and will complement our established and proven west coast based operations.”

With more than 30 years’ experience on major building projects in Australia and internationally, Mr Sammut will be based at the business’ Sydney office following an initial six month period at its Perth headquarters.

Mr Sammut holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Canberra, Masters of Business Administration from The University of Melbourne, Melbourne Business School and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
