The Telegraph Road Upgrade Stage 1B project involved the widening of Telegraph Road from two to four lanes (between Norris Road and Mustang Street) with a centre median and provision for on-road cycle lanes in each direction.

 

Features of Telegraph Road Upgrade Stage 1B project included the widening of Telegraph Road (to the southern side) from two lanes to four lanes, constructing a swale drain in the centre median, reforming the drainage channel on the southern side of Telegraph Road from the Bill Brown Sports Reserve to Mustang Street, signalising the intersection of Telegraph Road and Mustang Street, construction of U-turn facilities and construction of on-road cycle lanes and shared pedestrian/cyclist footpaths.

 

The $10.7 million project was jointly funded by Brisbane City Council and the Australian Government. Now completed the works have improved safety, travel times, road flood immunity, reduced congestion and help cater for existing and future traffic demands in the area.
