Georgiou is currently delivering the City of Gold Coast’s Green Bridge project in a joint venture with Brady Marine and Civil.

A key element of the City of Gold Coast’s 2014 Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Masterplan, the project includes the design and construction of a 130-metre pedestrian and cycle link which will span the Nerang River and connect to Chevron Island, near the Thomas Drive retail and restaurant precinct.

The bridge will be built to allow a marine passage envelope to a height of 5.7-metres and width of 30.8-metres with a 5-metre wide shared path for pedestrians and cyclists.

The bridge will feature a J-curve landing over Evandale Lake with informal seating and space for pop-up food carts or performers. It will provide sweeping views across the water to Home of the Arts (HOTA) and the Surfers Paradise skyline.

Once complete, the bridge will link HOTA to Chevron Island and provide a gateway between the precinct and Surfers Paradise via the various cafes and restaurants on Chevron Island.

Construction on the project commenced in November 2018 and is expected to reach practical completion in late 2019.
