Georgiou Group has been selected to deliver Pimlico to Teven stage three for Roads and Maritime Services and delivery partner Pacific Complete in Ballina, New South Wales.
The project, part of the $4.3 billion Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade, involves the construction of the final southbound carriageway including demolition and reconstruction of two bridges, earthworks and realignment of a new permanent junction with Pacific Highway.
Chief Executive Officer John Georgiou said the company was pleased to be appointed for this stage of works and be associated with the largest regional infrastructure project in Australia.
“Traditionally, Georgiou has built a reputation as a quality roads contractor in Western Australia however over the past five years our focus has been on building a National reputation across New South Wales and Queensland,” he explained.
“This project is a great opportunity to showcase our capability in the transport market within NSW while building on our relationship with Roads and Maritime Services. Additionally, we’re excited to be working with our lead subcontractor partner SRG whom is currently working with Georgiou on the Mandurah Bridge project in Western Australia.”
Mr Georgiou said the experienced project team is committed to minimising any disruption to the travelling public and surrounding community.
The project will employ 50 at peak and is scheduled for completion by October 2019.
Once complete the overall upgrade will reduce the overall length of the highway; reduce travel times; improve safety and improve travel reliability.

Georgiou awarded Ellenbrook Tank project
Wednesday 28, June 2017
Earlier this week, Hon. Dave Kelly - Minister for Water - announced 200 local jobs will be created on the Ellenbrook Tank project for Water Corporation.
Georgiou has been awarded two packages of work on the project which is set to be not only the biggest tank in the southern hemisphere, but the largest ever constructed in WA for Georgiou and Water Corporation. Georgiou has completed the earthworks package and are now working on the design and construction of the tank, which is being manufactured our of our Precast yard in Hazelmere, WA.
Work on the tank, which is located north of Gnangara Road near the Hanson sand quarry, began recently and is expected to be completed in early 2018. The project will cater for growth in the popular north-east metropolitan corridor and provide a more consistent water pressure for Ellenbrook residents.
This past weekend was a big one for Georgiou with both The Pocket and Curtin University Building 410 winning big at various industry awards celebrations.
On Friday night, The Pocket Claremont – a Georgiou building project for internal client Georgiou Developments – took out the Harold Krantz Award for Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing category in the 2017 WA Architecture Awards. These awards showcase the rich and unique outcomes that can come from clever design – no matter what the budget, site, or location of the project.
On Saturday night, Georgiou backed it up taking home the 2017 WA Australian Institute of Building (AIB) Professional Excellence Award in the Commercial Construction ($25m-$100m) category for our Curtin Building 410 Project. Additionally, The Pocket Claremont wasn’t finished, picking up a high commendation in the Residential Construction ($25m-$100m) category.
The AIB Awards are unique as they are the only Australian awards that recognise the professional excellence of individual’s in the building and construction process, as opposed to the project or completed structure. These awards are about how it was built, not what was built.
A huge congratulations to our Building Business Unit and Georgiou Developments team on this incredible achievement.
