Georgiou Group, in 40:60 joint venture with Acciona, has been awarded the Coomera Connector Stage1 North package for repeat client, Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Valued at $425 million, the Stage 1 North package is a 4km high speed dual carriageway, including six bridge structures and localised intersection upgrades at each end of the project (Shipper Drive and Helensvale Road).
Funded by the Queensland and Australian governments, the full Coomera Connector will ultimately be 45km of high-speed, north-south transport corridor connecting the Logan Motorway and Pacific Motorway interchange at Loganholme and Nerang-Broadbeach Road in Nerang.
Enhancing safety while improving travel times between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Coomera Connector is South East Queensland’s largest road infrastructure project and is set to meet the rapidly growing region’s future transport needs.
