Georgiou Group has been awarded a $66 million contract to improve King Georges Road for repeat client, Transport for New South Wales.

Scope of work involves widening King Georges Road between Stoney Creek Road at Beverly Hills and Forest Road at Hurstville to create three lanes in each direction, along with a dedicated right turn lane on King Georges Road southbound.

Chief Executive Officer Gary Georgiou said: “We are proud to apply Georgiou’s track record to these improvements and look forward to applying our experience working in delivering complex road infrastructure to the project.”

“This project, in particular, has extensive interface with residential and commercial properties, so our priority will be to minimise disruption to the community while improving journey times for the 43,000 daily road users.”

Construction on the project will see 80 personnel at peak with an expected completion of 2024.

The project will ease congestion, boost safety and improve travel times along King Georges Road.
