JON SMEULDERS – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Jon joined Georgiou Developments in early 2011, bringing more than 26 years of property experience to his role as Executive Director.

Jon’s industry experience includes nine years with international agency Knight Frank working in commercial property management, facility management and retail leasing roles. In 2001 he joined Multiplex Asset Management where he led the company’s property and facility management business as WA General Manager.  Jon later moved into the property development operations of Multiplex, and played an integral role in landmark projects like The Old Swan Brewery and Raffles Waterfront, as well as the Medina Apartment Hotel and EY Building which formed part of the substantial Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre precinct development. He went on to head up the WA office of First State Group in 2008, before joining Georgiou in 2011.

As Executive Director for Georgiou Developments, Jon is responsible for growing a strong development business and maintaining a pipeline of quality projects across a variety of sectors and asset classes. A non-executive director of Committee for Perth since 2016 and current chairman of arts organisation STRUT Dance, Jon is an energetic supporter of the arts and a firm believer in the importance of community building and engagement.

Jon’s community roles have included chairman of an IPS school board, state councillor of Creative Partnerships Australia, member of Swanbourne Nedlands Surf Life Saving Club, and membership of a range of organisations.
