Georgiou, in joint venture with BMD Group, has been awarded the $298.5 million Centenary Bridge Upgrade project for repeat client, Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Scope of work involves construction of a new three-lane northbound bridge, rehabilitation of the existing bridges to create southbound lanes and upgrade to pedestrian and cyclist facilities on this critical transport connection to Brisbane’s western suburbs.

Chief Executive Officer Gary Georgiou said, “This is a complex structures project and our joint venture brings proven expertise and experience in working as  an integrated team – something which is going to be crucial for the successful delivery of this project.”

Georgiou is currently delivering the $400 million Tonkin Gap Alliance Project and the $215 million Mitchell Freeway Extension Project with BMD Group in Western Australia.

Construction on the project, which will see 120 personnel at peak, is set to start in 2023 with an expected completion in four years.

The project will improve network efficiency and travel times, while increasing capacity and improving safety.
