Georgiou is proud to release their fourth Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

The company’s second Innovate RAP focuses on creating opportunities and building strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Georgiou is the first Australian construction company to have their Reconciliation Action Plan endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.

Chief Executive Officer Rob Monaci says Georgiou’s latest RAP is around business as usual.

“For Georgiou, it’s always been about more than ticking boxes. Now, more than ever, we are focused on supporting economic and social participation, respecting and promoting the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and fostering strong leadership for reconciliation,” he explains.

“While we have committed to a range of actions in this RAP, it doesn’t define our limits. Just last month, we pledged our support to the Uluru Statement – which wasn’t listed as on outcome in our RAP – instead it was the right thing to do and something we felt strongly about.

“It’s a journey but it’s also about good business and this RAP is a key element in our ability to do good business and be good corporate citizens.”

Reconciliation Australia CEO Karen Mundine wishes Georgiou well on their second Innovate RAP.

“Through implementing an Innovate RAP, Georgiou Group will strengthen its approach to driving reconciliation through its business activities, services and programs, and develop mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders,” she explained.

“We wish Georgiou Group well as it embeds and expands its own unique approach to reconciliation. We encourage Georgiou Group to embrace this journey with open hearts and minds, to grow from the challenges, and to build on its successes.”
