Georgiou Group has been awarded the $78 million (incl. GST) Spring Farm Parkway Stage 1 project by repeat client, Transport for New South Wales.

Scope of works involves construction of a new four-lane 1km divided road connecting Menangle Road to Menangle Park Urban Release Area, including an interchange over the Hume Highway with city-facing on and off ramps, shared-use path and four new signalised intersections.

Executive General Manager Eastern Region, Gary Georgiou, said: “We’re thrilled to continue building on our roads experience on the East Coast of Australia, which remains a large focus area within our business strategy.

“Transport is a strong market sector for our NSW operations and our team is excited to build on this expertise while staying committed to delivering on our client’s objectives. We look forward to utilising our 40-year-experience to safely and efficiently deliver a key infrastructure asset for the State.”

Construction, which will see around 150 personnel employed at peak, is set to commence in mid-2022 and will take approximately two years for completion.

Spring Farm Parkway at Menangle Park would ultimately provide a connection between Camden Bypass, the Hume Motorway and Menangle Road to provide an east-west link that would service existing and future residential land releases and support the Greater Macarthur Growth Area.

Stage 1 of the Spring Farm Parkway would provide a new four lane divided road extending almost one kilometre. The Parkway would connect Menangle Road to the Hume Motorway and Spring Farm, Elderslie, and Menangle Park.
