Georgiou has secured the design and construction contract for the Perth Airport’s pedestrian Skybridge from the new Airport Central Station to International Terminal forecourt in WA.

The scope of works includes the design and construction of a 280-metre long elevated pedestrian link bridge.

General Manager Building Steve Okill said the award comes after six months of collaboration between Georgiou and Perth Airport under an Early Contractor Involvement arrangement.

“Off the back of our alternative proposal, we worked closely with PAPL and its various stakeholders to further develop the design and construction methodologies during the ECI phase and prior to works commencing,” he explains.

“Having successfully delivered the DFO project on Perth Airport land, we have a great understanding of our clients’ needs and expectations and look forward to working with them to deliver this vital link for travellers.”

The Skybridge provides an elevated sheltered walkway across the main terminal car park, providing direct access to the T1 forecourt as well as access to T2. It is designed to provide clear orientation and wayfinding with views across the terminal precinct.
