The scope of work involves construction of a new eastbound bridge on Computer Road, strengthening of Lahr’s Road bridge, construction of new signalised intersections, new pedestrian bridge, re-configuration of roundabouts and associated works.
Executive General Manager East Coast Gary Georgiou said the award of this project marks Georgiou’s first motorway project in the region.
“This project is a great win for the Queensland business as it not only enables us to continue building on our relationship with repeat client, Department of Transport and Main Roads, but it allows us to build on our expertise in the construction of large infrastructure projects,” he explains.
“Road and bridge construction are in our DNA, having delivered similar projects across Australia over the past 40 years. As a vital piece of the Queensland infrastructure network, we look forward to bringing our expertise to successfully deliver this project on time and budget.”
The M1 Pacific Motorway – Yatala South Interchange (Exit 41) project will improve traffic flow through the interchange by including a new bridge across the M1 with additional lanes, the upgrade of roundabouts to traffic signals, and the relocation of on-ramps and off-ramps.
