Georgiou Group has been awarded a $50 million superstructure contract as part of Perron Group’s $100m investment in the new Toyota WA Distribution Centre in Kewdale, Western Australia.

The overall scope for the project includes the design and construction of a new state-of-the-art distribution centre, incorporating automated warehousing systems supplied by Toyota Industries Corporation wholly owned subsidiary, Vanderlande.

Approximately three-times the size of the current facility, the new 20,000 square metre five star Green Star and five star NABERS Energy rated distribution centre will feature advanced robotic and automated material handling technology, which will improve safety and efficiency and increase capacity to handle more parts and accessories.

Georgiou Group General Manager Steve Okill commented, “We’re delighted to be working with Perron Group on the delivery of their new Toyota WA facility. We share similar values and long histories in WA and look forward to contributing to Perron Group’s future.”

“Working with Perron Group and Toyota subsidiary, Vanderlande, we will be installing an automated storage and retrieval system that is the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere – making it one of the most technologically advanced vehicle parts distribution centres in Australia,” he said.

The new facility will service a network of 36 Toyota dealership sites across the state, works are expected to be complete in 2024.
