THE BAYS ROAD RELOCATION

In mid-2021, Georgiou delivered The Bays Road Relocation project on the site where the new Sydney Metro – The Bays – metro station will be located.

This work included changes to Port Access Road, Sommerville Road and Solomons Way, designed to improve road safety by reducing conflicting traffic movements along the internal port road network.

Scope of works involved:

• reconfiguration of the intersection at Port Access Road / Sommerville Road / Solomons Way;
• relocation of Port Access Road to the south-west;
• line marking and signage at Port Access Road, Sommerville Road and Solomons Way in the east of the proposal site to establish one-way flows and reduce conflicting traffic movements; and
• relocation of Cement Australia Truck Parking Licenced Area to the north-east.
