TIANQI LITHIUM PLANT

Georgiou has delivered various Tianqi Lithium Plant packages for clients, MSP Engineering and Tianqi.

In 2016, Georgiou secured the earthworks package at their plant in Kwinana, WA. In February 2017, Georgiou was then awarded the concrete works package, which includes detailed earthworks and reinforced concrete works for the project. Both the preliminary earthworks and concrete packages, valued at $15 million, were completed in 2017.

The awarding of the Tianqi Lithium Plant packages was the culmination of more than 10 months of engagement with Tianqi and MSP Engineering, with preliminary cost planning, technical advice, value engineering and staging advice being provided towards achieving Development Approval for the project.

The project, worth a total of $400 million, is WA’s first downstream lithium processing plant and will produce 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide a year for the Chinese battery market.
