Georgiou has delivered the Warrego Highway Stage 2 Upgrade project, valued at circa $53 million.

Located on Toowoomba’s western outskirts between Charlton and Kingsthorpe, the project involved duplication of the Warrego Highway from Leesons Road to just west of the intersection with Kingsthorpe-Harden Road.

The scope of works for the Warrego Highway Stage 2 Upgrade project involved the duplication of the Warrego Highway from Leeson’s Road to just west of the intersection with Kingsthorpe-Haden Road and the construction of a new 2-lane road parallel to the existing Warrego Highway. The new road serves as the eastbound lanes and existing 2-lane road has remained in use as the westbound lanes:

Roadworks included the duplication and upgrade of the existing 5.3km carriage way and bridgeworks included the construction of a two (25m) span concrete bridge with precast/cast in situ deck, cast in place piles and RSS abutments.

The project was the second stage of the Toowoomba to Oakey Highway Duplication and one of 15 projects funded under the $635M Warrego Highway Upgrade Program.
