In January 2017, Georgiou was awarded the Scarborough Beach Redevelopment with the project team responsible for redeveloping all public domain areas within the iconic beachfront between Manning Street and Brighton Road. The site spanned the entire width of the original Scarborough precinct from the edge of the shopfronts to the edge of the beach.
Scope of works for the project included demolition, service and drainage installation, pavement construction, soft and hard landscaping works, car park reconfiguration, construction of a new Surf Club and a number of other buildings.
The team also relocated the heritage-listed Scarborough Clock Tower and transplanted 21 four-metre Phoenix canariensis (Canary Island date palm) trees for the new Transit Hub.
The Forward Works package, which prepared the site for this next stage with landscaping, bulk earthworks and services relocation, was also delivered by Georgiou, valued at $3 million.
Georgiou delivered the project in early 2018, providing a revitalised Scarborough Beach foreshore and new attractions for families and visitors to enjoy.
